I grew up intensely curious about and preoccupied with animals. As a young kid I would spend my free time in nature chasing after everything that moved. Trying to get close to every critter I came across. After a long day of exploring the hills of Southern California, I would hide the rattlesnakes I found from my parents in my closet. I wanted to be able to study them up close and get to know them. To the chagrin of my parents, I never grew out of this obsession. I managed a pet store, worked at the Animal Farm at Six Flags and took care of movie animals in Washington state. But finding jobs in the animal industry proved challenging for me. In the year 2000 I decided to start something fun in the pacific northwest. It took me three years to find a location that would be allowed by the city and that I could afford. I opened Animal Magnetizm Dog Daycare in July of 2003. That took up most of my time for 21 years. But my wife and I needed some lasting sunshine. And since we couldn’t take our dog daycare with us, in 2024 we sold Animal Magnetizm and our house and went searching for our new home in a sunny climate. After driving all over the country, we found Prescott and knew immediately that we had found home.
